The author outlined perfectly how we can expect to hear from God. Setting up a time to read God’s word, a steady diet of the Bible help us grow spiritually. I like what the Bible says in Ephesians 4:14 that says that we will no longer be children tossed back and forth by every wind of doctrine/teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men. We will know God for ourselves through his word. Hallelujah!!! I have come to love spending time in the Word, it strengthens the inner man.
The group exercise in chapter 5 is asking to share a scripture or verse that has recently had personal meaning to us. The scripture that meant a lot for me lately is John 15:7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you (NIV). In other words, if I spend enough time in the word, I will begin to want what God wants. So when I ask God something, it is like God in me asking, my will and God’s will are intertwined, and there is no room for selfishness in my heart. Therefore, I can not ask God for something that is ill-motivated, but out of a pure conscience, because I abide in him. Thank God for Holy-Spirit revealing it to me that way.
Fellow book club friends, please take time to share what scripture has been a blessing to you this week.
The scripture that has been a blessing to me is 1cor 13 : 4 _7 . Read it in
the book ” the greatest thing in the world” by Henry Drummond. the author define the nine ingredients of the spectrum of love:
Patience is the normal attitude of love waiting to begin,
kindness is love active ,
generosity is love envieth not .envy is a feeling of ill will to someone .
Humility love is not puffed up.
Courtesy is love in society
UNSELFISHNESS. Seeketh not its own
Good temper is not provoked
Guilelessness take not account of evil
Sincerity rejoice not in unrighteousness, but rejoice with the truth. The author States that these nine ingredients of love make the supreme gift the stature of the perfect man. My desire is to grow in the love of God and walk in it every day.

Thank you Charlotte! My favorite verse is Romans 8:38-39
Short version: nothing shall separate me from the love of God. It gives me that confidence that my trust in Him is not on shaky grounds but that the Love of God towards me is a serious business, solid and everlasting..Even Jesus said to His Father the ones you have given me I kept, not one was lost except the son of perdition. When you know you are secured in His Love, you can believe for the impossible. Even when I fall, I know He will pick me up because His motives towards me are good and pure.
I also know I can come to Him open, I don’t need to hide, I can share my weaknesses, failures, fears, struggles everything. .He won’t judge me. I can come transparent and allow His Grace to change me and perfect me into His son. I love Him because He first love me and there is no fear in perfect Love.
I know that His love is stable and doesn’t fluctuate whether I am doing good today versus when I have failed..I don’t need to perform to win His love.
